WEEKEND FEVER (FEB.16-17,2008) Part 1

I HAD ONE OF THOSE AMAZING WEEKENDS!

I don’t mind not sleeping for 24 hours or so because it was just so worth it! My adventure started last Saturday morning. This is such a long, long blog entry so I’m going to break this post into sections.

I dragged myself out of the bed that rainy Saturday morning and went to the office to work. That Friday night I was supposedly going out  with some officemates for some Friday madness but it seemed everyone was too busy and tired to even have fun.

I admit, it seems like almost everyone is so boring lately.

Anyway, Saturday lunch was great because our HR Manager, Ms, Ann, took us out for lunch at AA’s . It was a grilled restaurant located somewhere in A.S. Fortuna.  Shiloh, Joseph, Ismaelito,  and Janice were there. The food was great but the idea of eating and conversing with each other outside the office was something that was even greater than the treat itself. It was one of those rare instances when I get to talk to my officemates in a different level:  comfortable and easy.

I was scheduled for a meeting with a friend that afternoon but she told me that the meeting was cancelled. So I spent the remaining hours in office working on some things.  I was also scheduled to meet a friend over coffee sometime early that evening but another important event came my way.  I was too busy that week not to remember that it was Alia’s birthday that day. Alia, a sweet soul, is a good friend of mine and I felt so stupid for not remembering her birthday until she sent me an sms informing me about a small gathering at her place that night.

But before I went to Alia’s place, I went to meet with Aes at Ayala Center.  We window-shopped there for  a few hours. I honestly enjoy window-shopping, trying on new clothes and shoes, etc.  It’s therapeutic for me.  I don’t need to buy those things that I like.  By just trying them on and seeing how and what I look like when wearing them satisfies me.  I am so easy to please.

Around 9pm, Aes and I went  to Alia’s party and when  we got there, Alia was already tipsy.  I felt bad for Alia that night because everybody who was there knew that she was mending a broken heart.  She doesn’t know this but I cried when she was ranting about how she felt for this person whom she loved so much.  I know not all stories have happy endings.  My story was horrible but I know that I made the right choice when I decided to  move on.  I wanted to tell Alia that she’ll soon be alright.  However, I knew that everything was not as simple as it seems  to be especially when you feel that the world conspired to break your heart into bits and bits of minute pieces.  Tragic lovestories hurt like hell.

While at the party, I was trying to convince Alia’s cousin, Alva, to join me at Club Pump. Argh! She said no because she said she felt awful that night because she ate a lot. She felt she’s just fat that night.

Aes and I left Alia’s party around 11pm. We were heading to Waterfront  Hotel in Lahug. I have to meet my mom there that night. And my friend, Denise, was at the hotel too. That Saturday afternoon, Denise invited me to travel with him on Sunday down southern Cebu. He said that there was this beach property he was interested in and he wanted to see it that weekend.  I said that I was going but I was really not sure if I really wanted to. I was thinking of how strenuous traveling can be sometimes and I was honestly more into the idea of clubbing rather than traveling that weekend.

CLUBBING AT CLUB PUMP

After Waterfront, Aes and I went to Club Pump. And amazingly, Joshua came in like 30 minutes after we arrived at the club. It was just amazing because knowing Joshua, I know that it practically takes him more than an hour or two just to get there. He’s always late.  Although I hate him when he makes me wait that long, I’m actually getting used to his  it. So when he arrived 30 minutes from the time we sent him an sms that we were expecting him at the club, I was amazed. Hehe. And for Aes, she went home when Joshua arrived.  She said she was baby-sitting.

So I had a drink or two at Alia’s party and when Joshua arrived together with Jefryl, I knew that it was going to be a drunken night.  Clark arrived a few minutes when we got inside the club. And a few of Joshua’s friends joined us after a few hours later.

Bottomline: I was drunk.

And I knew that Joshua was laughing at me again.  But someone that night was laughing harder.  I didn’t really talk to him when we got inside the club. I pretended that I was too cool not to even notice him.  When he passed by our table, he touched me and he smiled.  I smiled back. I didn’t make an effort to talk to him that night  because I don’t want to seem like someone who is gaga over him.  I remember telling Joshua a few days ago that he shouldn’t take me so seriously especially if I say that I like someone. I told him that when it comes to things like that, no one should take to heart what I’ve said about this guy that I think that I like. And it’s simply because I’m not serious about it. I can be so impulsive and crazy at times.

To make the story short, I was drunk and that SOMEONE was just trying to engage me in a conversation that I was hoping would never end.  Well it was not really a conversation. He was just smiling at me the whole time that I was talking gibberish. And he was smiling and staring at me.  I don’t know when or what part of our conversation he did it. But this guy smiled then he pulled me close and wrapped his arms around me.  That wasn’t the first time he did it.  He did it when I was sober. He did it a lot of times when I was drunk.  And i’m not sure if Joshua or any of the guys noticed it.

Yes, I admit. I  do like him. B-U-T I don’t want to be with him.  Argh! I saw this pretty lady in red that night  and she had her arms around his neck. And this lady was smiling at him and he was laughing.  It’s hard not to notice these things when they were just right in front of me. And it was too late to look away.

Around 4am, Sunday, Denise was calling and sending me sms’.  We were supposed to meet at 4am outside Golden Peak Hotel. We had to leave early for Simboan , Denise said. But at 4am I was this drunk and jealous girl inside this Korean-infested club.( No offense to Koreans. What I’m saying is, there are a lot of Koreans inside Club Pump. ) So by 430 I finally had the guts to leave for Golden Peak.  I didn’t want to leave so early but I don’t want to miss the chance to see other places again. I think I can go clubbing anytime soon but to travel in the southern areas of Cebu is a rare opportunity that I should give more importance too.
