  2. Xiangqi (Chinese chess) is better than “western” chess… and it has an elephant. It also has cannons, a river, and two palaces.

  3. In India , Chess Pieces are linked to the traditional war Units . So a Rook is an Elephant , A Knight a horse , Queen a Minister , Bishop a Commander and Pawns as foot soldiers….

  6. Answer to the puzzle:
    1) Queen takes pawn (Qxh7); Black king takes Queen (KxQ7);
    2) Rook moves to the right (Rh3) and mates King.

  7. White Move 1 : Move Elephant 2 steps right(just behind) queen .
    Black Move 1 :
    White Move 2 : Hit the soldier infront of the enemy’s king
